Breakfast with Santa

Over the last several years, our council has hosted an annual Breakfast w/ Santa. This breakfast offers a low-key, casual opportunity for families, especially those with young children, an opportunity to meet Santa. The breakfast was worked by 8 brother knights, and offered breakfast for approximately 250 people. Knights performed all the cooking, serving the food, taking up money (a nominal amount to cover costs), washing the dishes, and cleaning up afterwards. In addition, the Knights provided a complimentary picture of each child with Santa. This year, one of the Brother Knights was able to locate a sleigh to use with the photos that was a big hit.

A final point related to this event was that it allowed one of our Brother Knights who is mentally challenged to play the roll of Santa part of the time. This gave him an opportunity to play a positive roll in an activity and he had a blast doing it! He can’t wait to participate in the next Breakfast with Santa.
